03/16/10  I am ordering a NET module for my RK Elite and plan to get it connected to the internet and computer and upload to ReefNook. Should make keeping track of things a whole lot easier.

01/23/10  Came back from trip to Egypt to find out that I won the RK Elite from ReefNook!!! I am very excited about that. As far as tank updates. I tried to get a calcium reactor online before leaving and didn't get it set up in time. So just used kalkwasser in my ATO. I came back and parameters were perfect, so I dont need the calcium reactor. I will continue to maintain calcium and alkalinity using kalkwasser.

11/16/09  Just set up new frag tank. Having the second new frag tank built. Both will be attached to the 200g system via sump, and both will utilize the same skimmer. The new frag tanks are 48x24x14 and 48x24x12. The shallower is for SPS and will be lit with 2x250 MH, and the deeper is for softies and LPS and will be lit by a TEK 4 bulb T5 fixture.

11/13/09  Calcium measurement with old test read 360 about a month ago, so I used Calcium Chloride to raise it to 460. I got a new Calcium test kit yesterday and calcium read 640, so I had LFS check. It also read 640, so I will stop dosing kalkwasser for now, and just dose alkalinity for the next few weeks and let the calcium drop on its own.

11/10/09  Noticed redbugs on some of my acros. Removed all crustaceans that I could find and did my first dose of interceptor today at 11pm. Will repeat once a week for 3 total doses.

10/08/09  This tank was setup in June of 2009, and much of the livestock was slowly transferred from my 72g Bowfront, which is now my frag tank. The coral fragments are now mounted and growing quickly.
