Keeping track of your equipment is mostly an ego boost. People can freely browse the reefs on reefnook and you want them to see all the neat gadgets you have, right? Once you have created a reef, click the Equipment sub navigation link where you will see a listing of your equipment. Click + Add Equipment to enter a new piece of equipment.
Add a name and description for your equipment (The name is the only required field). If you have a url to a product page, you can enter it here also as well as a picture. Finally, you can enter the date your set it up. In Use defaults to true. This flag is useful for keeping track of equipment you once had, but aren't currently using. Clicking Create will take you back to the listing page.
If you notice, there are three new links under our piece of equipment: [edit], [notes] and [delete]. [edit] simply lets you change the data associated with your equipment. [delete] removes this piece of equipment from your reef. [notes] however lets you add more detailed information. Lets take a look at that link.
Clicking [notes] takes you to the equipment detail page. Click + Add Maintenance Record to add a new record to the equipment.
With individual maintenance records, you can keep track of when you replaced your lights, when you sent your pump in to be fixed or when you last cleaned your skimmer after it overflowed onto the floor. Click Create to go to the maintenance record listing.
If you click Equipment to go back to the equipment listing page, you should now see that your equipment shows that you have 1 note available.
